FC Goa went into the breather with a two goals cushion. In the very 7th minute of play, Chdel Fernandes latched a scorching right footer from top of the penalty box, 1-0.
As the match progressed, Candolim SC tried to keep the FC Goa colts from having a clear look at the goal but it was in the 38th minute Valentine Carvalho after dribbling couple of Candolim players drove a hot blooded shot which was too hard for Candolim keeper to hold where Valentine scored off a rebound.
On crossing over, FC Goa made it 3-0 with Valentine controlling a corner from Remson Cardozo dribbled past the Candolim defence and netted in.
In the last quarter of the match, FC Goa missed at least a dozen scoring opportunities with shots at the goal hitting the goal post.
