FC Siolim enter last eight

Football Club of Siolim trounced PVC, Parra 3-0 to move into the quarter-finals of Calangute Panchayat Cup soccer tournament organised by Calangute Association at Poriat ground, here on Saturday.
Siolim took the lead in the 5th minute through Claudio Rodrigues. Down by a goal, Parra went into the attacking mode but were unable to find the net. A 25-yard try by Parra’s Cliffton Fernandes was brilliantly saved by the rival goalkeeper Nikhil Govekar.
Changing over, Parra kept the momentum going and created good moves in Siolim territory but the forwards failed to convert the chances.
Siolim too tried to double the lead but the Parra goalkeeper Moses kept the rival forwards at bay with timely saves.
Claudio scored again to double the lead for Siolim in the 18th minute while Samir Dabholkar rounded off the tally in the 25th minute.
