CALANGUTE: Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza inaugurated Parra Fitness Centre, at Parra on the occasion of birthday celebrations of Calangute Constituency MLA Michael Lobo in the presence of Sarpanch of Parra Delilah Lobo, Parish Priest of St. Anne’s Church Fr. Alex D’Souza and a host of dignitaries including the Sarpanch of Verla-Canca Mohan Dabhale.
Addressing the gathering, D’Souza said, “It is a good sign that your MLA is concerned of your health and have fulfilled the promise of a gymnasium or fitness centre at Parra. We need to keep ourselves fit and healthy so each one should make the best of the facilities available at the gymnasium. Your MLA has given you the infrastructure and now it your duty to maintain it. Lobo has been working tirelessly for the people of his Calangute Constituency which is appreciated by one and all.”
Michael Lobo said, “I have fulfilled the promise given to the Villagers of Parra of a fitness centre. It is now for the villagers to make use of the facilities to keep themselves fit and healthy. We are also inaugurated the changing room at PVC Church ground, Parra for the sportpersons making use of the ground. We have plans to set up a garden for the benefit of the children of the village with the co-operation of the sarpanch of Verla-Canca and the panchayat.”
Sarpanch of Parra Delilah Lobo thanked Francis D’Souza for gracing the occasion and Michael Lobo for making Parra a model village through development.
Earlier, Fr. Alex D’Souza blessed the premises of fitness centre and changing rooms at PVC Church ground in presence of the dignitaries and villagers.
A senior citizen Antonio Rodrigues inaugurated the changing room premises.
