FATORDA: Fr Agnel Multipurpose High Secondary School, Verna shot-out St Anthony High School, Majorda 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-final of the U-17 Subroto Mukherjee Salcete Taluka football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Astroturf ground, Fatorda, on Monday.
Both teams tried to score but both teams strikers lacked sharpness.
In the tie-breaker Fr.Agnel Multipurpose HSS, Verna netted through Kanaiya Kanti, Shawn D’Silva, Shawanal Carvalho and Ellie Fernandes while Pascoal Gomes, Dislon Godinho and Shenoy Costa scored for St Anthony High School, Majorda.
In the other matches of the day, Holy Spirit Institute, Margao edged past Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda 3-2.
Mevan Dias netted a brace and Aditya Salgaocar netted a goal for the winners while Maxwell Furtado and Jordan Borges netted a goal each for Our lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda.
In another match, Mae Dos Pobres High School, Nuvem blanked The Kings School, Sao Jose de Areal 2-0.
Darwin Colaco and Caimax Coutinho netted a goal each for the winners.
