RAIA: Fr Agnel YSC, Paroda, edged past Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, 8-7 via tie-breaker to move into quarter-finals of 34th Super Soccer Tournament played at Dando ground, Benaulim, on Friday.
Fr Agnel YSC looked in cruise control when Kanchan Kori struck in the 17th minute and Ashwon Fernandes doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time.
DBO Fatorda refused to bow, relentlessly pressing in the second half.
Cliff Barretto pulled one back in the dying minutes before Edgar Noronha’s injury-time strike sent the game into penalties. At end of the regulation time, both teams settled for 2-2 draw. Under intense pressure, Fr Agnel YSC held their nerve from the spot to snatch the quarter-final berth.
