QUEPEM: Fr Agnelo Youth Sports, Paroda trounced St Roque Youth Club, Calata, Majorda2-0 to march into the quarterfinals of Fr Agnelo Youth Inter-Village football tournament, organised by Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda and played at Panchayat grounds, Avedem, Quepem, Goa.
There was no score at the end of first half.
In the second session, Fr Agnelo broke the deadlock when Joy Fernandes scored from a close range.
Down by a goal, St Roque Youth Club went all out for an equaliser but suffered another blow when the rival team went in with a counter attack from Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club.
Manish Oliveira found the ball and ran down the flank to make the rival team suffer yet another blow as he punted the ball in the far corner of the nets to make it 2-0 for his team.
Olten Fernandes of Fr Agnelo Youh Sports Club keeper made two brilliant saves later in the match to keep the scores at 2-0 thus taking his team into the quarter-finals.
