PANJIM: Goa Body Builders Association (GBBA) alleged misappropriation of funds, irregularities and illegalities in the Goa Body Builders and Fitness Association (GBBFA).
Although both the associations are not affiliated with the Sports Authority of Goa, GBBA president Krishna V Salkar claimed that GBBFA has misused the money given by Sports Authority of Goa for National Body Building Championship in 2011.
Salkar, who claims of having RTI documents of all the illegalities in the GBBFA, while addressing the press informed that the association which was registered under Goa Societies Act in 2009 has not been renewed till date and has been already declared as unregistered in 2014 by the sub-registrar.
The GBBA has also written to the Sports Minister Babu Ajgaonkar asking security for the body-builders.
“We have asked for government aid and job for which we have received a positive response from the Sport Minister. We have also asked for affiliation and I hope we will get it soon as our motive is only to promote the sport without any personal interest”, added Salkar.
Bodybuilder Vishnu V Uskaiker made allegations against GBBFA president Sanjay Patil of misusing the association by planting his own executive committee members without any legal process.
“I have RTI documents which clearly show that Sanjay was single handedly running the show without even calling for an Annual General Body meeting. Also there is no proper balance sheet, no audit and no elections”, he further alleged.
He also claimed illegalities in the signatory authority of the association.
“The SAG logo, which is being used by GBBFA, is also a false scenario shown to the people as according to the RTI the association is not affiliated till date”, he added.
“We have already sent a written complaint to SAG and also met the director VM Prabhudesai but till date no action has been forthcoming. Now we are planning to take legal action against GBBFA”, he said.
