Goa gets first silver

Team of Mani, Bishworjit and Dhiraj finish behind Services; Manipur settled for the third spot

PANJIM: Goa’s triathlon team of Mani Singh, Bishworjit Singh and Dhiraj did the State proud by securing its first silver medal, at the National Games, in Kerala, on Monday.
SSCB were the dominant force in men’s triathlon, walking away with both the individual as well as the team gold medals. Minachandra won the individual gold before teaming up with Dilip and Gurudatt to finish on top in the team competition. 
The individual silver and bronze went to Dilip and Manipur’s Mahesh respectively, while Goa and Manipur (Mahesh, Sushil Singh and Dewanjit Singh) took the second and third spot in the team final.
Goa took their tally to three medals and are in the 28th position in the overall standings of 30.
Goa’s two bronze medal came in the form of Talasha Prabhu’s bronze in 100m swimming and beach volleyball.
