PANJIM: The Goa girls will face hosts Madhya Pradesh in the first semi-final of the 63rd School National U-19 Tennis Ball Cricket Games 2017 organised by MP Education and Sports Department in collaboration with School Games Federation of India, at Government Higher Secondary School, Nimuch, MP, on Thursday, at 9 a.m.
In the league match one, Goa girls defeated Odisha by 7 wickets.
Odisha scored only 14 runs in 8 overs. Krupa Patel and Zarina Karbari claimed two wickets each while Sidhi Chari bagged one. In reply, Goa scored the required runs in first over. Kaushika Gaonkar scored 8, Krupa Patel 2 and Sidhi Chari 1.
In league match two, Goa defeated Daman Diu. DD scored 44 runs in 8 overs. Siddhi took three wickets while Zarina Karbari claimed two wickets with two maiden overs.
In reply, Goa managed to finish the game in 3.2 overs with Deeplaxmi Naik scoring 22 n.o., Kaushika Gaonkar 10 n.o. and Krupa Patel hitting 9.
In league three tie, Goa girls batting first, scored 82 runs in 8 overs. Deeplaxmi Naik scored 42, Krupa 13. In reply, Tamil Nadu were 55 all out in 7.5 overs. Zarina claimed two wickets and Krupa three.
In the fourth match, Goa defeated Uttar Pradesh. UP scored 49 runs in 8 overs. Sidhi Chari took two wickets.
In reply, Goa got the required runs in 4.5 overs. Deeplaxmi Naik 29 runs n.o. and Kaushika 15 n.o. were the top scorers.
Meanwhile, the Goa boys will face Uttar Pradesh in the fourth league match and Gujarat in the fifth at 8.30 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively.
