MARGAO: Half centuries by G. Jayawardene, Ashwin Hebbar, Narendra Reddy and K. Srikanth helped Andhra Pradesh to register a fluent 108 runs victory over host in Under-22 South Zone Ram Mohan Rao limited overs cricket tournament at PCA ground, Porvorim on Sunday.
Batting first, Andhra Pradesh scored 309 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Ashwin Hebbar cracked 68 runs and were assisted by K.Shrikanth (51) and SH Srinivas contributed valuable runs.
For Goa, off spinner Vedant Naik and Shrinvivas shared two wickets piece.
In chasing, Andhra Pradesh score, Goa scored 201 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Rajat Shet (53) and Snehal Kauthankar (51) sizeable score defied rival bowlers and managed to give some stability to the host score. For visitors, Bhaskar Reddy, C. H. Snehkishore shared two wickets each. Host Goa suffered their second defeat.
