PANJIM: Goa topped Group D as they held Haryana 2-2 in Santosh Trophy National football tournament in Kochi, Monday. Goa were trailing 1-2 at the break.
Goa join Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Jharkhand in Group B quarter-final league. Two teams will qualify for the semi-finals.
Marcus Peixote put Goa into the lead in the 11th minute after Agnelo Colaco’s shot missed the mark narrowly in the fifth.
Haryana equalized in the 23rd through Vivek Kumar and 14 minutes later they went ahead again through Vivek.
Goa came up with the equalizer in the 19th minute of second half through Joe Rodrigues.
Goa had a chance thereafter, but Gerose Oliveira’s header off Perryson cross hit the upright.
Goa will play TN on February 21. They next met Maharashtra on February 23 and Jharkhand on February 25.
