MAPUSA: Host Goa Police Sports Club registered a 2-0 win over YBT Panjim to move into the quarters of the 18th edition of the Goa Police Football Cup organised by Goa Police Sports Cell played at Duler stadium, here, on Wednesday.

Both the goals came in the first session of play.
After a slow start, the match came to life only in the last quarter of the first session.
A fierce shot by Niraj D’Mello at the first post was blocked by YBT keeper Augustin D’Mello.
However the keeper could do very little, to stop two quick goals from the boots of Tushar Dessai and Prajat Naik from close to make it 2-0.
YBT too had their chances but Goa Police keeper Niklesh Naik thwarted Sanket Jotkar and Rudresh Mandrekar in one to one situation.
At the very start of the second session YBT lost a glorious chance to reduce the margin with substitute Mahendra Shirvoikar shot from outside the penalty box was collected by Police keeper.
Mahendra was once again unlucky not to score ten minutes later as his strike ricocheted off the far post with this time keeper Niklesh beaten.
YBT continued to exert pressure but Babash shot was paired for a corner by the keeper.
Prajat Naik of Goa Police received the man-of-the-match award from Roy Pereira—Dy.SP of Goa Police.
