MAPUSA: Goa Police Sports Club scored a resounding 4-0 win over Vagator PYSC in the GFA’s First Division League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Thursday.

MAPUSA: Goa Police Sports Club scored a resounding 4-0 win over Vagator PYSC in the GFA’s First Division League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Thursday.
Goa Police piled on the pressure on their rivals right from the start where in the 6th minute of play Milind Shinde sent the ball across to U-20 Nevil Soares right infront of the Vagator goal, however the striker faltered from handshaking distance.
In the 15th minute of play Vagator’s Nitesh Salgaocar set the ball on platter to Sylvester Dias who powerful shot sailed inches over the Goa Police goal.
After some midfield action Sachin Chopdekar ran into the Vagator camp and sent a sharp cross across the face of the Vagator goal which was pushed away by keeper Sherwin only to see the ball roll towards Vineet Bugde whose strike at goal was kept at bay by the acrobatic Sherwin.
Minutes before the halftime whistle, Goa Police managed to break the lead through Vineet Bugde, whose close range effort found no answer from the rival keeper, 1-0.
Changing ends, Goa Police did not waste much time and further inflated their lead in the 52nd minute of play with Vineet Bugde scoring his brace, giving finishing touches to Sachin Chopdekar’s spadework, 2-0.
Vagator seemed to have resigned to their fate and seemed to be on the backfoot for the remainder of the match which saw them concede two more goals, with Milind Shinde (65th minute) and Sachin Chopdekar (80th minute) doing the scoring, 4-0.
