MARGAO: Ravi Teja’s unbeaten 111 runs (67b, 12×4, 4×6) and his second wicket stand with Akash Bhandari (76 runs, 42b, 6×4,4×6) of 130 runs helped Hyderabad to score an impressive nine-wicket win over host Goa in the Subbaih Pillay South Zone cricket tournament at MCC ground, here, Sunday.
Goa suffered their third successive defeat while Hyderabad registered their first win in the tournament.
At PCA ground, Porvorim, Kerala defeated Andhra Pradesh by four wickets with Robert Fernandez and Raify Vincent Gomez scoring unbeaten 85 and 65 runs respectively while at BITS Pilani ground Karnataka registered their third win in-a-row with a seven-wicket win over Tamil Nadu. Manish Pandey and Karun Nair scored brilliant unbeaten half centuries respectively and shared an unbeaten 123 runs stand for the fourth wicket.
Brief scores – (At MCC ground) Goa: 225 for 6 in 25 overs (Sagun Kamat 63, Swapnil Asnodkar 70, Manvinder Bisla 40, Ravikant Shukla 21, Reagan Pinto not out 25, Sherbahadur Yadav not out 14 runs. Akash Bhandari 2-36, Arjun Mungala, Amol Shinde, Ashish Reddy one wicket each) lost to Hyderabad, 228/1 in 23 overs (B Thomas 10, Ravi Teja 111 not out, Akash Bhandari 76, Vihari not out 23 runs. Robin D’Souza, Saurabh Bandekar one wicket each).
At PCA ground, Porvorim — Andhra Pradesh: 256 for 6 in 50 overs (K S Bharat 74, D B Prashantkumar 41, N Jyoto Sai Krishna 61, K S Shahabuddin 11, B Sumanth 17, Amol Majumdar 10, Y Dnaneshwar Rao not out 22 runs. Rohan Prem 2/23, S Sreesanth 4/61) lost to Kerala: 260 for 4 in 46.2 overs (V A Jagdessh 15, Rohan Prem 42, Robert Fernandes not out 85, Sachin Baby 29, R V Gomez not out 68 runs. Dnaneshwar Rao 2/44, K S Shahabuddin and M Ajaykumar one wicket each).
At BITS Pilani ground, Tamil Nadu: 250 for 8 in 50 overs (S Anirudha 14, A Mukund 39, Dinesh Kartik 84, Vijayshankar 73 runs. A Mithun 3/49, S S Shivalingaiah and Stuart Binny two wickets each) lost to Karnataka, 252 for 3 in 45.2 overs (K Rahul 20, Robin Uthappa 49, S Ganesh 35, Manish Pandey not out 81, Karun Nair not out 64 runs. V Yomahesh, Rahil Shah and B Aparajith one wicket each).
