Goa University won the West Zone Inter-University football (men) championship organised by Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.
Goa lead the table with six points followed by Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya four points, Mumbai University four and Laxmibai National University of Physical Education two.
Goa beat Mumbai University 1-0 in their first encounter. Arnold Cardozo scored for Goa. In the second match, Goa beat LNUPE 3-0. Arnold Cardozo, Gary D’Mello and Ramino Estricio scored. Goa lost their third match to hosts, University Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya 0-2.
