CALANGUTE: Goa Velha Sports Club beat St Savio Sports Club, Calangute 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of St Anthony’s Cup football organized by St Anthony’s Sports Club, Marna, at church ground, Siolim, Friday.
Calangute got off to a good start scoring in the 15th minute through Blake Haldankar.
Goa Velha fought back and restored parity in the 20th minute when Roydon Camilo converted a free kick. Changing over, Roydon Camilo put Goa Velha ahead in the 40th minute.
Trailing by a goal, Calangute went all-out in search of the equalizer but a goal eluded them.
Roydon Camilo was declared man-of-the-match.
