AGENCIES,PUNE: Goan swimmers excelled at the 35th Glenmark sub junior and 45th junior aquatic championship held at Balewadi Pune.
On the first day, Xavier D’Souza bagged a gold medal in 50 mtr butterfly with a timing of 25:92 and a bronze medal in 100 mtr backstroke with a timing of 59:04. Xavier has trained at Glenmark Mumbai.
Another Goan swimmer Shoan Ganguly bagged a bronze medal in 400 mtr medley with the timing of 4:45:13
On the second day, Shrungi Bandekar won a bronze medal in 200 mtr backstroke with the timing of 2:32:67 while Sanjana Prabhugaonkar secured a bronze medal in 50 mtr backstroke with the timing of 35:49.
Shoan, Shrungi and Sanjana were trained by technical advisor Surajit Ganguly of Goa Swimming Association at Mapusa swimming pool.
