Guardian Angel High School, Curchorem lifted the Petlu’s Gold and Diamond trophy defeating Don Bosco High School, Panjim via the tie-breaker 4-1 in the finals of U-15 boys soccer tournament organised by Petlu and Sons, Varca at Varca ground on Sunday.
Guardian angel opened their account in the third minute when Russell Vaz found the nets through a 35-yard shot.
Changing sides, Myron aided Don Bosco to level scores. The teams fought hard to increase their tally but the goalkeepers were excellent under their respective bars.
In the tie-breaker, Sanito, Aliston, Russell and Austern netted for Guardian Angel while only Myron scored for Don Bosco.
Following individual prizes were awarded: Best forward and first scorer of the finals Russell. Man-of-the-match goalkeeper Aliston Fernandes (Guardian Angel). Best midfielder Jesus. Best defender Issac. Best goalkeeper Nackil (Don Bosco).
