CURCHOREM: Immaculate Conception High School, Avadem-Paroda defeated Don Bosco Farm High School, Sulcorna 4-0 to emerge victorious at Quepem taluka in the U-14 Subroto Mukherjee tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Xeldem-Quepem panchayat ground, recently.
In a keenly fought encounter, Paroda opened their account in the 12th minute through Fredrich Fernandes’s powerful right-footer off long pass provided by his teammate.
Thereafter Sulcorna mounted pressure but could not score as their strikers missed many golden opportunities to equalize the lead.
Sulcorna became more aggressive when Paroda increased their tally through powerful shot from Sheldon Fernandes but could not neutralize the lead taken by opponent School due to strong defence.
Crossing over, Fredrich scored second goal for Paroda as Sulcorna struggled even after that Sulcorna could not open account.
Later their hope completely shattered when Fredrich scored his hat-trick by his thunderous shot which went past the keeper right into Sulcorna’s net.
