MARGAO, APRIL 8 Karnataka Sports Association XI, Mumbai drubbed Customs and Central Excise 4-0 to storm into the semi-finals of All-India Invitational Veterans football tournament, organised by Veterans of Salcete, at Curtorim ground, on Thursday. Karnataka led 1-0 at the breather.

Karnataka Sports Association XI, Mumbai drubbed Customs and Central Excise 4-0 to storm into the semi-finals of All-India Invitational Veterans football tournament, organised by Veterans of Salcete, at Curtorim ground, on Thursday.
Karnataka led 1-0 at the breather.
Karnataka went into the attacking mode right from the outset and were rewarded in the 5th minute when Chandrakant Poojary punished the Customs goalkeeper with an adroit placement off a pass from Michael.
After the lemon break, Striker Hasmuk Baria doubled the lead for Karnataka immediately after Douglas Sena provided a through pass. Ten minutes later, Hasmuk Baria completed his brace after receiving a pass from Chandrakant.
Later, Baria created an opportunity for Douglas Sena to seal the fate of Customs and Central Excise in the dying minutes.
Earlier, Air India prevailed over Bardez Veterans 6-5 via the sudden-death to march into the semi-finals. The teams were locked in a goalless draw at the end of the regulation period.  In the ensuing tie-breaker, Air India kept their cool to romp home victorious.
