PANJIM: Mahila and Nutan English High School beat Sharda Mandir School by 36 runs to win the U-14 President Cup State cricket final, at SAG ground Campal, on Monday.
Sharda Mandir HS won the toss and elected to field. Mahila & Nutan HS scored 236 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 40 overs.
Rijul Pathak was the top scorer of the innings with 92 runs off 70 balls. Shridhar Keni (32), Praful Ghadge (14) and Vishmay Falgaonkar (11) were the other contributors.
Sharda Mandir HS bowlers put in a commendable performance as Neehan Khaunte scalped 3 wickets while Manas Keluskar, Akshat Jain and Adiraj Gaunekar picked a wicket each.
In reply, Sharda Mandir HS were bundled out for 200 runs.
Atharv Saraf was the top scorer with 82 runs off 98 balls while Neehan Khaunte scored 44 runs off 61 balls.
The Mahila & Nutan HS bowlers put in stellar performance to restrict their opponents as Sarthak Dessai grabbed 4 wickets while Praful Ghadge scalped 3 wickets.
Rijul Pathak and Samarth Rane picked a wicket each.
