RAIA: Maina Sports Club defeated Margao Sports Club 2-0 to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the 30th Mandopa Cup, organised by Mandopa Sports Club and held at their ground on Wednesday.
Anslem Fernandes put Maina Sports Club ahead with a well-placed finish in the 10th minute, while Joywin Carneiro doubled their advantage in the 24th minute. Despite creating opportunities, Margao Sports Club failed to convert, leaving Maina with a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The second half saw missed chances from both sides, with neither team able to add to the scoreline.
Maina’s goalkeeper, Caje Peixeto, was awarded man-of-the-match from Inacio Costa, a member of the club.
