In the final, Mareon overcame a spirited challenge from Marc Gouvea of Holy Family, Porvorim 11-3, 11-6, 11-5.
Marc had shocked last year’s runners-up Vicksan Gurjao 11-9, 11-8, 11-8 in the semi-final. Vicksan quelled the challenge of diminutive Mark Monteiro 11-3, 11-3, 6-11, 11-9 to claim the third place.
In the girls section, Sunaina Rodrigues from Our Lady of Rosary High School, Dona Paula dethroned Rebecca Mascarenhas also from the same school 11-6, 7-11, 6-11, 11-9, 11-9 in a match that went full distance.
The tournament attracted 28 entries in the boys and the girls sections and was conducted by Bro Allwyn Barbosa.
