There was no score at full time.In an evenly poised encounter, the teams kept the crowd entertained.As the match progressed, Max Veterans slowly took over control and nearly scored but Alfred Fernandes, former Sesa Goa midfielder misfired from hand-shaking distance.
After the break, Nuvem Veterans put up a vast improved display with their forwards and midfielders working in tandem to put the rival defence under pressure. Marcus Carvalho’s booming shot flew over the crossbar and later, in the dying minutes, Roberto Fernandes, former India stopper back’s rasping shot missed the mark narrowly.
In the tie-breaker, Alfred, Chandrakant, Shaikh, Santan Furtado found the mark for Max Veterans while Bobby, Peter and Nelson were on target for Nuvem Veterans.
