PANAJI: Mayem Union scored a 33 run win over Khorjuem Sports Club in the Albert Developers Sports Club 1st All Goa Season Ball Cricket Tournament, played at Sports Authority Ground, Campal, on Friday.
Electing to bat first, Mayem posted a decent total of 155 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Anand Surve hit a quick-fire 45 runs in just 28 deliverirs. Mayur Ghadi hit 42 off 42 balls which included five boundaries.
Mayem Union Sports bowlers managed to defend the target of 155 as they restricted Khorjuem for 122 for the loss of seven wickets.
Yogesh Naik bagged the Man-of-the-Match award.
In another match, Shirgao Sports Club defeated SK Jogging Canca by 35 runs.
Batting first, Shirgao SC batsmen posted 163 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs and then restricted their opponents to 128 runs.
