PANJIM: Milagres Sports Club beat Candolim Sports Club 2-1 in the Goa Football Association Second Division League match, played at Sirsaim ground, on Saturday.
Milagres Sports Club received no threat in the opening stages of the game as their opponents played in the own half.
Taking advantage of the situation, Milagres constantly raided the rival third and were successful in taking the lead in the 25th minute through Valito Miranda.
Milagres Sports Club played more of short passes thus maintaining ball possession and deservingly doubled the account through Albino Pereira just minutes before the break.
Crossing over, Nehal Naik was quick in reducing the margin for Candolim Sports Club but despite their continued efforts, they failed to get the equalising goal as the full time score read 2-1.
