RAIA: Mulleavaddo/Bainfoll pipped Tarivaddo 2 1-0 in the final to emerge champions in the Assolna Parish Cup 2023 played at Assolna ground, recently.
The all-important goal of the match was scored by Cahill Diniz in the 22nd minute. It was an end to end match with both teams creating chances. Tarivaddo 2 had to settle for the runners-up position whereas the third place went to Ambelim 1.

The following prizes were awarded: Player of the final – Nash Diniz (Mulleavaddo/Bainfoll), Golden Boot – Jaden Cardozo (Tarivaddo 2), Best Goalkeeper – James Cardozo (Tarivaddo 2), Upcoming Goalkeeper – Angelo D’Costa (Banda), Upcoming Players – Jarel D’Silva (Tarivaddo 2) and Cahill Diniz (Mulleavaddo/Bainfoll), Player of the tournament – Crosley Luis (Mulleavaddo/Bainfoll) and Most Disciplined Team – Pedda Ambelim.
Earlier, meritorious sports personalities from Assolna and Ambelim who represented Goa and India in various sports disciplines were felicitated.
In total, 33 sports personalities from Assolna and Ambelim were felicitated by Regina Martyrum Church, Assolna, in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
Elvy Fernandes, former international footballer was the chief guest while MLA of Velim Constituency Cruz Silva was the guest of honour.
Michel Castanha, international footballer was the special invitee. Also present was former MLA of Velim Constituency Benjamin Silva along with other dignitaries.
