Youth of Sirlim downed Jolly Boys of Mingfol 5-4 via the tie-breaker to enter the quarter-finals of VJT Cup football tournament organized by VJT Events Management at church ground, Chinchinim on Friday. The teams were tied 1-1 at the breather.
The teams went into the attack from the start. It was Mingfol who went into the lead when Belland Rodrigues punished the rival keeper with a deft placement after picking up a pass from his own half in the tenth minute of the first half.
However, their joy was shortlived when Sirlim’s Feliciano neutralised the lead with a snap shot.
Crossing over, none of the teams managed to penetrate into the rival camps with both the goalkeepers alert under the bar.
In the tie-breaker, Clayton Pereira, Remzie Pereira, Denzil and Ashley Pereira were on target for Sirlim while Babool, Malfred and Wellington converted for Jolly Boys.
