Nerul Sports Club prevailed over Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club 5-2 via the tie-breaker after both teams were involved in a 1-1 draw to move into the semi-finals of 5th Reira Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Saligao Sporting Club at Sporting ground, Saligao on Thursday.
Dominating the proceedings, Rossman Cruz took the lead in the 15th minute through Gabby.
Nerul tried to bounce back but their forwards were unable to make the best of the goal scoring opportunities. Rossman Cruz also had a golden opportunity to seal their fate but their forwards failed to score.
Changing over, Nerul exerted pressure on Rossman’s defense time and again and found the equaliser in the closing stages through Jennifer Clemente.
In the tie-breaker, Avinash, Abdul, Deepraj and Felix converted for Nerul while only Myron could find the net for Rossman.
