MARGAO: Our Lady of Fatima Sports Club B Baida blanked Vaschvon Boys, Sarzora 3-1 and advanced into the semi-finals of Chinchinim Villagers Cup football tournament organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers at church ground, Chinchinim, Thursday. They led 2-0 at the breather.
Fatima dominated right from the word go and kept their opponents on tenterhooks. After a couple of misses in the initial period, Fatima took the lead in the 10th minute when Domnick Rebello bulged the net off Narcisco Rebello.
Spurred by the early success, Fatima swarmed all over the rival territory and Narcisco Rebello doubled the lead with a snap shot off a cross from Domnick Rebello.
Post resumption, Vaschvon Boys intensified their forays and Serwin Fernandes reduced the deficit.
Ian Rebello put the issue beyond doubt late in the second half.
Hansley Furtado of Vaschvon Boys Sarzora was declared Most Valuable Player.
