PANJIM: Parish Youth Nuvem registered a solitary goal victory over Curtorim Gymkhana in the final of 26th St Rock’s Super Soccer, organized by St Rock Youth Club at St Rock ground, Majorda, on Sunday.
The match was witnessed by an overwhelming Sunday crowd as PY Nuvem dictated terms right from the word go.
They made their intentions clear and raided Curtorim Gymkhana’s citadel frequently. Inacio Colaco in the 10th minute of the play scored the goal off a pass from Joerose.
Changing over Curtorim Gymkhana tried their best to level the scores but PY Nuvem defenders eluded the forwards of Curtorim Gymkhana.
PY Nuvem were awarded Rs 40,000 while Curtorim Gymkhana took home Rs 30,000.
Individual prizes were awarded to Best goalkeeper Francis Fernandes (PY Nuvem), Best defender Stanley Colaso (PY Nuvem), Best forward Inacio Colaco (PY Nuvem), Best half Gibson Fernandes (Curtorim Gymkhana).
Velim MLA Benjamin D’Silva was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of guest of honour Anthony Pango, GFA executive Member.
Jesus Branganza and Theodomira Colaso were special invitees. St Rocks YC president, Roque Dias welcomed. Dominic Carvalho proposed the vote of thanks.
