MAPUSA: PVC Parra edged past Guardian Angel Sports Club, Savordem 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the second round of 7th Reira football trophy organized by Saligao Sporting Club at Saligao ground, Monday. The teams were locked 1-1 at full time.

After a barren first half, the game burst into life in the 48th minute when Guardian Angel’s Vikram Mane’s free kick found Marcos D’ Costa at the edge of the box, who bulged the rival nylons with a powerful volley to open the scoring.
Two minutes later, Guardian Angel could have doubled their lead but Savio Mascarenhas’ close range header went inches wide from a corner kick taken by Melvito Fernandes.
At the other end, Parra went all-out in search of the equalizer and leveled the scoring in the dying minutes after midfielder Lawrence Fernandes unleashed a venomous long ranger that left rival goalkeeper Rashtan D’ Souza stunned.
In the tie-breaker, Lawrence, Myron, Rohit, Joseph, Clinton scored for Parra while Shahib, Melvito, Vikram and Suheil converted for Guradian Angel.
