PARODA: Parish Youth, Nuvem edged past Tilamol United Sports Club 5-4 via the tie-breaker to march into the semi-finals of Assis Afonso inter-village football tournament organised by Fr. Agnel Youth Sports Club, Paroda, at panchayat ground, Avedem- Paroda, on Saturday.
Both the teams started the match on subdue. But as the match progressed, both had equal number of scoring chances but their forwards muffed gilt edged chances.
Crossing over, the teams went all out in search of elusive match winner but failed to score. With time running out, Tilamola United SC nearly struck the match winner but Allwyn Faria’s shot went wide.
At the end of regulation time, the teams failed to open an account and settled for a goalless draw.
In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, Cedar Colaco, Ryan Souza, Beran Colaco, Mceuvgene Fernandes and Sanford Colaco were on target for Parish Youth Nuvem while Maclon Colaco, Assli Carvalho, Polly Menezes and Antonio Carvalho found the mark for Tilamola United Sports Club.
