SANTA CRUZ: Quepem Veterans recovered from an early setback to brush aside the challenge of Mapusa Veterans 4-1 and enter the semi-finals of the All-Goa Veterans football tournament, organised by Jolly Boys Sports Club, at St Agostinho, St Cruz, on Friday.
Ramesh Shirodkar drew first blood for Mapusa Veterans at the half an hour mark but Quepem fought their way back through Coatao da Silva.
Da Silva then put Quepem ahead for the first time in the match while Salvador Miranda struck twice in quick succession to help his team score a comfortable victory.
Quepem Veterans will now meet Chinchinim Veterans in the first semi-final on Sunday.
