MARGAO: Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim scored a hard fought 6-4 victory via the tie-breaker over NVHSS, Kolkata to emerge champs in All-India Mar Athanasious Trophy inter-school football tournament at Municipal Stadium, Aluva, Kerala, Monday.
Rosary had the better exchanges in the initial stages and went ahead in the 27th minute through medio Milton Fernandes off a free kick by Raymond Fernandes.
The Kolkatans fought back and got the equaliser in the closing stages of the first half through Dipaya Samant.
In the tie-breaker, Rosary scored through Raymond Fernandes, Steven Pereira, Badlon Fernandes, Alex Tavares and Tunard Fernandes.
Steven Pereira was adjudged best forward and Shilton Fernandes named best goalkeeper. Tunard Fernandes won the last goal scorer award.
