MAPUSA: Salgaocar Sports Club got the better of Sarvodaya Royals with a first innings lead in the finals of Goa Cricket Association’s (GCA) two-day Test cricket tournament at GCA ground, Porvorim, on Tuesday.
Salgaocar CC scored 329 for five in reply of Sarvodaya Sporting’s first inning score of 328 runs.
Vishal More cracked fluent 92 runs for Salgaocar with 15 hits to the fence and a six with 154 balls. He along-with Parvinder Singh added 96 runs for the fourth wicket.
After departure of Parvinder Singh (50 runs) and Vishal More, Darshan Misal and Ramdayal Puniya saw Salgaocar win the championship.
Salgaocar CC were richer by a purse of Rs 5 lakh and a trophy while
Sarvodaya Royals had to be content with a purse of Rs 3 lakh.
