Salgaocar Sports Club coach Karim Bencherifa believes that his side has a good chance to earn full three points from their away match against Air India in the 13th round match of 4th I-League in Kolhapur on Thursday.
“We have to convert chances and stay focused throughout the match,” said Bencherifa. Salgaocar are on a high after winning nine matches so far but Air India will present a new challenge.
Salgaocar will sorely miss the services of their in-form Japanese striker Ryuji Sueoka and midfielder Gilbert Oliveira after both have been ruled out due to double bookings. To add to their misery, striker Ekene Ikena and defender Rino Anto will also sit out due to injuries.
However, the Moroccan coach is still hoping that his team will come good on Thursday. “Suspension or injuries are a part of the game. Yes we will miss the services of key players, but we still have match winners on the bench. The mood in the team is very high and I hope they carry it into the match on Thursday. I have respect for Air India and I am confident they will give a good account of themselves on Thursday,” Bencherifa concluded.
