MARGAO: Salgaocar Football Club put up a dominating display against Baina Sports Club as they registered a commanding 6-0 win in the Goa Football Association U-14 League match played at Cansaulim ground, on Sunday.
Salgaocar Football Club who led 4-0 at the break opened the scoring in third minute as a Salvador Gama’s defence splitting pass found Ashony Gomes who made no mistake to guide the ball at the back of the net.
The young Green Brigade gave no chance for the Baina side to settle in the game as they soon doubled the account in the sixth minute once again through Ashony Gomes who on receiving a pass from Rui Noronha controlled the ball before getting it on his stronger foot and slammed past the keeper to make it 2-0.
Despite down by two goals, Baina SC tried to create some moves but their midfield lacked creativity and soon the defence fumbled once again as Salgaocar FC scored their third at the half hour mark through Kenneth Pereira, who ran down the left wing before cutting in and making his way in the centre to create enough room for himself to score the team’s third.
Salgaocar then added their fourth just before the breather when Ashony set up Ashwek Jadhav to enjoy a four-goal cushion at the break.
Salgaocar then scored their fifth through Flann Crasto who pushed in Ashvek Jadhav’s cross.
Finally in the 66th minute, Salvador Gama drew the final nail in Baina SC coffin as he made the best of the pass receivedfromKenneth Pereira.
