PANAJI: Saligao Sporting rallied to beat Adarsh Yuvak Sangh, Saligao 3-1 to emerge champions of Penha de Franca Cup football at Sangolda ground, Sunday.
Adarsh dominated the first half and took the lead in the 18th minute through Paulo.
Stunned by the deficit, Saligao regrouped quickly and restored parity in the 42nd minute through Ajay Diwadkar. Saligao inflated their lead when Ajay completed his brace in the 61st minute.
Adarsh tried their level best to neutralize the deficit but they were further hampered when Abhijit Gawnekar made it 3-1 for Saligao in the 63rd minute.
