MAPUSA: Saligao United played gallantly to register a hard-fought 3-2 win over Bidesh XI in the Goveia Cup match played at Colvale Church ground, on Monday.
Bidesh XI went ahead in the 12th minute through a classical finish by Kunal Salgaonkar from Vijet Salgaonkar’s long ball, 1-0.
The second half was keenly contested with Saligao United equalising through Soham’s neat placement where Soham minutes later netted his brace.
As the match progressed, Saligao United continued dominating to find Soham completed his hat-trick.
Bidesh XI reduced the margin through Kunal Salgaonkar towards the fag end, 3-2. The man-of-the-match was awarded to Narayan Chodankar of Saligao United by Bangaluru FC Development squad coach Bebiano Fernandes.
