PANJIM: The annual sports meet of the Santa Cruz Educational Complex, Santa Cruz was held recently, at Santa Cruz Village Panchayat ground, Santa Cruz.
The annual sports meet was declared opened by Wilson D’Souza, (P.I.Anti Corruption Branch, Directorate of Vigilance, Government of Goa) who was the chief guest and Savana Araujo ( Goa Zilla Parisad Member, Santa Cruz Constituency) as the guest of honour.
The event saw a display of art in the form of dances, put to music that evoked excitement among the spectators. The annual sports meet included march past, torch relay, oath taking by the students.
The sports meet held many displays like physical drill portraying unity in diversity, master chef drill, aerobics – fitness capsule, Indian dance – Garba, yoga, pyramids, relay race, etc.
The students enthusiastically participated in the event. The programme ended with the prize distribution and the vote of thanks.
The chief guest in his address said that, sports events at the school level help a student to be physically and mentally fit. It also helps develop professional sportspersons. The performance of the students and the hard work of the entire staff was appreciated by him.
