Clube Sao Minguel, Taleigao booked their place in the last four of 17th Pilerne Panchayat Cup Inter-Village Soccer Tournament organised by Pilerne Sports Club with a hard fought 6-5 tie-breaker win over fighting Siolim Sodiem Sports and Cultural Association at Maddanim ground, Pilerne on Monday.
Both teams matched each other and could not break the deadlock and ended the regulation goalless.
In the tie-breaker the first five kicks ended tied 2-2. Nikhil Goltekar and Rakesh Vaigankar found the net for Sodiem while Rishikesh shot out and Dylon and Phandari had their tries saved by the Taleigao keeper. For Taleigao, Anthony, Valencio scored while Ramesh, Samson and Cedric had they shots halted by the Sodiem keeper.
In the sudden death, Caetano, Raniel ,Francis Fernandes and Francis Rebello coverted for Taleigao while for Sodiem, Mahendra, Jefferson and Mukund scored and Hanumand Shirodkar failed to find the net.
