AMBELIM: Sarzora SC entered the semi-finals of the Lourdes Soccer Cup, organized by Ambelim Sports Club, defeating Don Bosco SC, Fatorda 3-2, on Sunday.
Sarzora started the match on the front foot and took the lead when Ryan, on receiving a through mass from midfield, curled his shot from a distance, which gave no chance for the Fatorda keeper Blinton.
Minutes later, Francis Andrade had a glorious chance to draw level but his lofted shot sailed over the bar.
Changing ends, Hanslum Furtado scored the equalising goal off a smart header.
Just when Fatorda were gaining momentum, they received a blow when Melito scored from a counter to give Sarzora a 2-1 lead. At the hour mark, Ashton scored the team’s third to give his side a two goal cushion.
Don Bosco, Fatorda managed to pull another goal back through Hanslum, who secured his brace.
