PANJIM: Sea Pearl, Velim hammered St Michael, Cortalim 4-1 to enter the quarter-finals of floodlit Trawler Owners Cup football tournament organised by Siridao Boys at river plate Siridao Sports Club ground, on Tuesday. At half time, the teams were held 1-1 draw.
St Michael started well in the beginning and took the lead in the 15th minute through a powerful shot from Edwin.
Soon, Sea Pearl upped their tempo and started attacking the rival goal but St Michael goalkeeper was equal to the task to thwart the rival strikes attempts. But much needed equaliser came in the 29th minute through Ryan’s bullet shot.
Post resumption, with the equaliser, Sea Pearl dominated the proceedings with one touch play. Anthony made no mistake to net the second goal.
St Michael tried their best to get the equaliser but Sea Pearl made very dangerous moves and again Ryan consolidated the lead completing his brace. Later, Raymond rounded the tally to make it 4-1.
