PANJIM, MAY 31
The 1st U-14 5-a-side football festival Goa L Cup organised by Goa Learning Soccer School was conducted at Saligao Sporting ground, Saligao on Sunday.
In all, 6 teams participated. The teams were under the guidance of English FA coach Aldrid Da Costa
The winners of the tournament were Carlos Lobo (captain), Azhar Kanapuri, Malcolm Fernandes, Charnel Fernandes and Clinton De Souza.
Charnel Fernandes won the highest goal scorer award, Malcolm Fernandes received the player of the tournament while Babli Parab won the most improved player award after completing his third level of training with the soccer school.
Sporting Clube de Goa star midfielder Bibiano Fernandes and Gregory Godinho were the match officials while Siddesh Parsekar and Gajanand Kauthankar were the referees.
Saligao Sporting Club, president, Tony Remedios was the chief guest and gave away the trophy.
