MAPUSA: Sporting Clube de Goa registered a 7-6 win via the tie-breaker over Football Club de Bardez in the Life Cup Charity match in aid of Fr. Victor Rodrigues-Asst. Parish Priest of St Lawrence Church Agassaim, organised by All Football Lovers of Goa, at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Saturday.
At the end of the regulation time the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
In the penalty shootout for Sporting colts Alesh Sawant, Cajetan Fernandes, Marcus Mascarenhas, George D’Souza and Glan Martins scored on target while for Bardez side Clinton Niasso, Yannick Fernandes, Jessel Carneiro, Veeraj scored while Flyod shot wide.
A large crowd attended the match whereby showing solidarity to raise funds for the cancer treatment expenses for Fr. Victor Rodrigues.
The crowd showed tremendous patience as the match took off almost one hour after schedule time due to flood lights technical problem.

Parish Youth of Candolim resisted a small prayer for the speedy recovery of Fr. Victor before the start of the match. Also a message from Fr. Victor was read thanking all the people for showing their solidarity.
Sporting dictated terms and after much probing finally in the 12th minute Cajetan Fernandes beat the Bardez defenders for the areal ball and headed into the nets off a corner from Peter Carvalho, 1-0.
Flaming Orange had two more chances to increase their lead, but Victorino Fernandes was thwarted by rival keeper Santosh Pujar in one to one situation, while Alston Camoti shot skywards from close.
Bardez strikers surprised the Sporting defense, as Shubham Dessai got the better of Ponif Vaz and sent a neat pass to Kirtikesh Gadekar who superbly palced the ball to the far corner of the goal, 1-1.
Just a minute before the breather a stinging 30-yard strike from Jessel Carneiro zoomed just over the Sporting crosspiece.
On crossing over Sporting coach brought in three substitutions, where in the 47th minute substitute Sunny Fernandes sent a floater to Victorino Fernandes who stabbed the ball into the goal, 2-1.
Bardez lost a glorious chance to level terms in the 70th minute from close. However five minutes later Shubham Dessai who was instrumental in the first goal scored with a stiff grounder to level terms 2-2.
