PANJIM: Aman Govekar netted a superb hat-trick as Sporting Clube de Goa eased their way past Churchill Brothers Sports Club 4-1 in GFA’s U-14 League at DSYA ground, Seraulim, on Friday. Sporting Clube led 3-0 at the breather.
Aman confidently gave Sporting Clube the lead within the first five minutes when he drove the ball low into the corner from team mate Shanon Viegas’ cross.
Within seven minutes, Aman netted his second of the game after latching on to a pass from Nikhil Correira, before stroking the ball home.
Just before the interval, The Flaming Oranje continued to expose the defensive naivety off their opponents when Aman’s cross along the danger area was guided in by Omkar Parwar.
Two minutes after the restart, Sporting Clube were rampant as Shanon showed some creative fluidity in the box with a neat turn to lay the ball on a platter for Aman to steal in and grab his hat-trick.
Churchill Brothers showed real heart and determination to push forward at every opportunity despite the early setbacks. They were rewarded for their efforts when Joan Rodrigues slotted in after the Sporting Goa goalkeeper failed to gather a high looping free kick.
