PANJIM: Sporting Clube de Goa demolished Portais Sports Club 12 -1 in the GFA U-14 League at Don Bosco ground, Panjim.
The match was totally dominated by the Flaming Oranje who went on a rampage right from the kick off.
Coming into this match high on confidence from their previous matches, Sporting Clube went full throttle right from the start. The first goal came in the 15th minute when Shanon Viegas scored from a close range beating two defenders and the goal keeper.
Post this goal, Portais SC came back strong and tried to put some pressure on the Oranje defenders but in the 24th minute Casmiro Concessao converted a beautiful pass giving Sporting Clube the two goal advantage.
In less then two minutes, Anthony Fernandes made it 3-0 for Sporting Clube. The next goal was scored by Shanon who came back to haunt the rival defenders making it 4-0 in favour of Sporting Clube at the half time.
The second half showcased an absolutely ruthless Sporting Clube who was in a hurry to warp up things. The rampage was initiated by Anthony who scored right at the start of second half and went on to add two more to his tally taking it to four goals for the evening.
The next goal was scored by Floyd Cortez who added one more towards the end.
The pick of today’s lot was Shanon Viegas who in the gap of eight minutes score three goals to take his personal tally of goals to five for the evening.
The only consolation goal for Portais SC came from Ashok Chetri. Portais lads did show some good spirit as they kept trying their best even when it was raining goals at the other ends.
