PANJIM: Sporting Clube de Goa and Panjim Footballers will play thier Goa Pro League third round match under flood lights, at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Wednesday.
The Goa Football Association’s President Elvis Gomes stated “It’s is a great achievement for us! It is difficult to playing on artificial turf as it gets heated up. Earlier it was an expensive affair to hold floodlit matches as the generator cost would be high, but now with our own generator the clubs have to pay only for the diesel. Perhaps, with this initiative the clubs will be able to play floodlit matches at low cost.”
The new entrants Panjim Footballers have put up brilliant displays in their earlier matches against Salgaocar FC whom they held in the season opener to an enthralling 3-3 draw before they defeated Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim 2-0 and would aim to continue in the same way.
While at the other end Sporting Clube de Goa are fresh from a 3-2 win against Salgaocar Football Club before they were held to a 1-1 draw by Goan FC.
