Sporting hammer Faria; Sesa stun Churchill Bros

Scoring three goals in each session, Sporting Clube de Goa hammered Faria Sports Management 6-0 in Kingfisher Pro League match at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Tuesday.
Sporting surged ahead in the sixth minute, as Faria defender Rollan Fernandes brought down striker Agnelo D’Sousa inside the danger zone and Freiman Piexoto made no mistake in giving Sporting the early advantage.
Midway, Sporting took advantage of another defensive lapse and as U-20 striker Pritam Singh went all out to double the advantage.
Faria’s evening turned from bad to worse as Agnelo noded home a fine cross from Joshua Maguire to make it 3-0.
Crossing over, Sporting’s domination continued and made it 4-0 in the 70th when Joshua found the mark off a rebound after Anthony D’Sousa’s attempt was thwarted by Faria keeper Sugitesh Mandrekar.
Six minutes later, Amar Halankar turned the ball into his own nets in a bid to avert danger and Sporting were awarded their fifth goal.
Moments before the final hooter, Australian Joshua wrapped up his brace to pull down the curtains on a super show from the Oranges.
Our Vasco Reporter adds: Sesa Football Academy stunned Churchill Bros 1-0 in a Kingfisher Pro League at Tilak stadium, here on Tuesday. Sesa scored the solitary goal in the 78th minute.
It was Churchill Bros’ worst performance this season. The absence of foreigners was felt, no doubt, but the rest were just disappointing. Full credit for Sesa boys as they displayed better coordination and above all, looked hard working in comparison to the Varca-based boys.
The all-important goal came from the boots of Pratesh Shirodkar when substitute Sidroy Alfonso sent an aerial cross, Gabriel Fernandes missed the header but Shirodkar was closeby to tap it in.
Earlier, a combined move from Lezly Fernandes and Gabriel Fernandes forced Churchill goalkeeper Lalit Thapa to effect a smart save.
Churchill had an opportunity to score in the first half as Raju Yumnam served perfectly to well placed Sabino Bryan Rodrigues, but the later, missed the mark narrowly.
